Shootout at Canoga Park strip club leaves 2 suspects dead
CANOGA PARK, Calif. (CNS/ FOX 11) - Two men who lived near the Xposed Gentlemen's Club were identified Sunday as the purported robbers who were shot dead by security guards in a predawn shootout in the San Fernando Valley Saturday.
Marvin Gonzalez, 24, of Winnetka, resident David Hernandez, 23, of Canoga park, were named by the coroner's office. Police had said they were suspected gang members.
Two other people, including a security guard, were also wounded in the gunfire, police said. They had stable life signs when examined at a hospital.
Gunfire erupted at the Xposed Gentleman's Club, 8229 Canoga Ave., at about 4:20 a.m. Saturday. Capt. Paul Vernon of the Los Angeles Police Department said guns were recovered at the scene from both Gonzalez and Hernandez.
He said police believe the two suspects were "hardened gang members'' based on their tattoos.
