Shooting at house party in West Covina leaves 1 dead, 3 injured

A house party turned deadly after a shooting broke out.

West Covina police responded to the 300 block of North Hollow Avenue, around 10:30 p.m. Friday.

Once on scene police located three shooting victims in the backyard. One person was pronounced dead at the location. Two male teenagers suffered gunshot wounds to the legs. They were transported to an area hospital. A female teenager was self-admitted to a local hospital with non-life
threatening injuries.

Police say a fight broke out before the shooting occurred. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office says the property was a short term rental house and information about the party was posted on social media.

Detectives found several empty balloons inside and outside of the house, they believe it may have been a "nos party" (nitrous oxide).

Officials continue to search for the suspect.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's or call "LA Crime Stoppers" by dialing 800-222-TIPS (8477).
