Royal Air Force aerobatic team flies over Los Angeles

Did you catch the airshow Wednesday evening?

The Royal Air Force aerobatic team, the Red Arrows, flew over Los Angeles. They made their way from the Hollywood sign to the Queen Mary and finally over Huntington Beach.

The fly over is in preparation for the 4th annual Great Pacific Airshow which will take place October 4 to 6 in Huntington Beach. The airshow is a family-friendly event that attracts hundreds of people.

A vital part of the Red Arrows’ tour to North America is the mighty Airbus A400M Atlas transporter. This massive machine, with its four turboprop engines producing 44,000 horsepower, can carry more than 22 tons of equipment and people and provides both tactical and strategic airlifting capabilities during times of crisis and peace. The A400M will only perform “flypasts” at a few select airshows during this historic tour.

It’s final performance will be at Huntington Beach. They came to Southern California after having a successful U.S. and Canadian tour.
