Overnight 405 Freeway ramp closures planned near LAX

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (FOX 11) - Officials warned travelers Saturday to allow extra time when heading to and from Los Angeles International Airport as some nearby ramps on the 405 Freeway were scheduled to close for ongoing construction work.

The following closures were scheduled to start at 9 p.m. Saturday, and will continue nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Friday, according to Caltrans:

The project on the 405 stretches from Port Road in Culver City to the 105 Freeway, estimated to be completed by spring 2019.

The works includes installation of roadside pavement, Maintenance Vehicle Pullouts and vegetation control, Caltrans said. The project will also include installation of sleeves for existing sign posts, access gates, vine planting at sound wall locations to deter graffiti, installation of cable railings and improvements to irrigation systems.
