Murder investigation underway after man is fatally shot in Long Beach

LONG BEACH, Calif. (FOX 11) - Authorities Friday were searching for whoever shot and killed a man in Long Beach.

The shooting occurred about 9:45 p.m. Thursday in the 2300 block of Elm Avenue, the Long Beach Police Department said.

Antonio Macias, 39, of Long Beach died at the scene after suffering a gunshot wound to his upper torso, police said.

No description was available of a suspect or suspects. Police were unsure of a motive for the crime.
