LA's Most Wanted: 2006 shooting death of Julian Torres
LOS ANGELES (FOX 11) - Julian Torres was murdered on Friday night, Jan. 6, 2006 outside Papi's Sports Bar and Gill which at the time was located on Washington Boulelvard at Strong Avenue in the City of Commerce.
Papi's is no longer in business at this location.
Just before midnight, 23-year-old Torres and a friend stepped outside for a cigarette. A man in a black hooded sweatshirt walked up to them and started shooting. Torres was hit in the head and died a few minutes later. His friend was wounded but survived his injuries.
The shooter, a young Latino with a shaved head and a light complexion escaped in a black Scion station wagon or SUV.
Torres' family said he was a successful refrigeration technician who did not have any gang connections or enemies.
