LOS ANGELES, Calif. (FOX 11) - At least 35 people were detained Saturday morning following a raid at a building in Koreatown.
Officers responded to the 200 block of North Vermont Avenue near Beverly Boulevard, around 4:30 p.m. Friday. The Los Angeles Police Department issued a search warrant for the building; they say it was being used for illegal gambling activity.
Once inside, LAPD officers found gambling machines, narcotics and money.
A SWAT team was called to the scene; officials say they tossed smoke grenades into the building when people inside refused to exit.
