Job Finder: ResourceMFG looking to hire 500 for various roles across SoCal

LOS ANGELES - Despite the coronavirus, the manufacturing industry has not stopped working. In fact, it’s booming since folks like maintenance technicians and certain machine operators are deemed essential.

Recruiting though has been a challenge so in Monday’s FOX 11 Job Finder we are featuring ResourceMFG. The company is a staffing agency and its parent company, Employ Bridge, is one of the largest employers in the country.

Right now they have roughly 500 open cases or jobs open across our area.

Leticia Castillo is a brand leader for the company and explained some of the biggest misconceptions saying, “a lot of people have this notion that manufacturing is old, it’s dirty and it’s not most of these facilities are state of the art."

She adds, “We are also looking for maintenance technicians and in addition to that we are looking for polishers and grinders.”

Castillo says they are also looking for welders, maintenance mechanics and more to produce things like wheel rims and airplane parts. Like every other industry, Leticia says they too are living a “new normal” in how the staff has to operate and to keep up with the demands of the job, they are hiring.

Gunnar Gooding is the Regional Director of the parent company and explains all the job requirements.  

"Some of those positions are unskilled so you don’t need any background, no license, no training, no previous experience so you can walk up and do those jobs right now,” Gooding said. “Other positions like the more sophisticated ones that Leticia is describing require a little bit more training or experience and they also come with higher pay rates of course… and then we have some very skilled positions forklift operators, machine operators.”

The company also encourages women to apply because Leticia says, “because they tend to do very well especially in welding because they have good eye detail and eye-hand coordination."

There is room for growth at Resource MFG too and not just from moving from an entry-level position to a permanent one.
