A freelance videographer in Canada was recording footage of a "homeless city" when one of the city's residents sprayed him with bear mace. The footage was for a news story about a recent court ruling forbidding the closing of the city, complete with interviews and extensive B-roll.
One of the homeless women was not happy about being recorded, and maced the videographer. He was legally able to record her, since they were in the public space, and the woman has since been arrested and charged with assault with a weapon.
