Dog and cat best friends reunite at animal center

A dog and cat who were separated have been reunited at a San Diego animal center that is hoping the two best buds will be adopted together.

The Helen Woodward Animal Center in Rancho Santa Fe shared this sweet video of Ami, a shepherd blend, and Mikaela, a brown tabby, seeing each other for the first time since they were separated.

Their previous owners reportedly had to give them up when they moved overseas and Mikaela and Ami were given to rescue group Volunteers in Defense of Animals, or VIDA.

VIDA decided to bring the animals to the animal center in hopes that the dog and cat would be adopted by one family.
