Celebrate National Dance Day in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES (FOX 11) - Saturday marks National Dance Day across the nation. 

National Dance Day founders Adam Shankman and Nigel Lythgoe stopped by Good Day LA Thursday to talk about the event taking place across the country. 

Shankman ("Hairspray," "Step Up," "What Men Want,") and Lythgoe ("So You Think You Can Dance") created the National Dance Movement to encourage people to discover the art, fun and health benefits of dance. 

On September 21, thousands of people from across the country will dance to an official pre-choreographed routine.

You can take part in National Dance Day at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa at noon.
