7 people fined $1,000 for violating stay at home order in Santa Cruz
SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - This was one expensive hang out.
Police officers in Santa Cruz cited seven people $1,000 tickets for violating the stay at home orders.
Police say the group traveled roughly 50 miles from Fremont to Santa Cruz to buy “essential” drinks.
The Santa Cruz Police Department posted a photo on social media showing the men in front of a 7-Eleven store.
“If you are not from Santa Cruz and you put our community at risk, you will get a ticket,” a twitter post from police Chief Andy Mills said.
