Sepulveda Basin closed due to storm

Heavy rain in Southern California has forced officials to close the Sepulveda Basin due to flooding concerns.

Heads up, commuters!

A sinkhole has shut down the northbound 405 Freeway off-ramp at Skirball Center and Mulholland Drive until further notice, Caltrans District 7 announced.

Drivers are advised to find alternate routes. The closure is expected to last up to a month while crews make repairs.

Signs are posted advising drivers to exit at Circle Drive.

Caltrans is also closing the southbound off-ramp to Skirball Center Drive. The ramp will be closed on Friday, February 23 from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

SUGGESTED:

It's unknown at this time what may have caused the sinkhole, but multiple storm systems that have battered the Southern California region could be a contributing factor.
