2 separate deadly crashes reported in Camarillo

CAMARILLO, Calif. (FOX 11) - The California Highway Patrol is investigating two different fatal crashes reported in Camarillo that left multiple people injured.

The first crash involving two vehicles happened near the intersection of S. Las Posas Road and Laguna Road just before 8 p.m. Thursday. At least one person was killed when one car overturned and landed on its rooftop trapping occupants. A second car with severe front-end damage was seen near the ditch just off the side of the road.

It's unknown how many people were injured in this collision.

A second crash occurred in the area of Fairway Drive and Center School Road in Camarillo where it appears a semitrailer went off the roadway reportedly killing at least one person. It's unknown if another vehicle was involved.

No further details were immediately known. The investigation is ongoing.
