1 person killed in Willowbrook crash

WILLOWBROOK, Calif. (FOX 11) - One person was killed in a vehicle crash Wednesday evening near the intersection of Rosecrans Avenue and Avalon Boulevard in Willowbrook.

The collision was reported shortly after 6:30 p.m. Authorities closed off the immediate area to traffic during the investigation.

The California Highway Patrol says one of the vehicles was traveling eastbound on Rosecrans Avenue when for unknown reasons it crashed into a pickup truck driving northbound on Avalon Boulevard.

A second person was taken to the hospital where they underwent surgery, according to CHP.

The identity of the deceased has not yet been released.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
