1 killed, 3 others injured in violent Norwalk crash

The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department investigated a deadly rollover crash involving two vehicles in Norwalk Monday afternoon.

One person was killed and three others were injured and taken to the hospital with various degrees of injuries from critical to minor, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The violent crash happened in the area of Rosecrans Avenue and Elaine Avenue at about 2:15 p.m. Two of the crash victims were ejected in the incident. One person was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released.

L.A. Sheriff's officials asked the public to avoid Rosecrans east of Pioneer Boulevard to west of Norwalk Boulevard. The road is closed to traffic in both directions until the on-scene investigation is complete.

Investigators say an SUV was traveling eastbound on Rosecrans Boulevard when it crashed into a parked tow truck causing the SUV to flip over injuring the occupants. They say speed appears to be a factor.

Authorities did not immediately release additional information.

Anyone with information on this investigation or may have witnessed the crash, is asked to call the L.A. Sheriff's Department Norwalk station at 562-863-8711.
