CSU students connect with Bots to help get through the semester
In 2019, Cal State University campuses launched an artificial intelligence program to help students stay on track to graduate. At Cal Poly Pomona, students have "Billy Chat" named after their school mascot-- Billy Bronco. The "chatbot" is available to answer student's academic questions 24-7. But it turns out because of the isolation so many students were feeling during the pandemic, academics weren't the only thing they wanted to talk to Billy about. Billy Chat's managers and CSU students talk about how Billy is helping them get through the semester.

It's a 72 hour long free virtual music festival that includes more than a hundred big names, including Nelly. It starts streaming Friday afternoon on Live by Live and runs through Sunday. Nelly explained how he hopes to raise more money than last year for MusiCares, which benefits thousands of music industry artists and professionals He also talked a little bit about "Lil Bit", his new song.

Animals have played a critical role in helping with our stress and loneliness during isolation in the past year. Between March and September of 2020, the number of foster pets in the United States increased by 8% according to Pet Point, which collects industry data on pet adoptions. While it's a selfless and honorable thing to rescue these animals, many of our furry friends have actually saved us during this time. Four pandemic pet owners join our Good Day LA Your Take Panel to discuss how their pets saved them.
