Ruptured water main floods streets in Anaheim

A ruptured water main in an Anaheim neighborhood flooded streets Wednesday and repairs continued through the night.

The water main ruptured at North and Sabina streets, flooding the intersection.

City workers shut down the water, said Lauren Gold, a spokeswoman for the city. Only two homes will have to go without water due to the shutdown of the water main, she added.

The flooding appears to have been caused by a rupture in an eight-inch cast iron pipe ``that we think was built in 1929,'' Gold said.

No injuries were reported.
