16 dogs rescued after being left abandoned at Palmdale park

PALMDALE, Calif. - More than a dozen dogs were rescued after they were reportedly left abandoned at a Palmdale park. Now, authorities are seeking the public’s help with finding out who is responsible.
What we know:
The County of Los Angeles Palmdale Animal Care Center was notified about multiple small dogs that appeared abandoned at Pelona Vista Park, located along Tierra Subida Avenue.
"Cpl. Ramons arrived on scene and observed 16 loose small dogs roaming a small corner of the park," the department wrote on social media. "Almost every dog had matted fur filled with dirt and [feces]."
Additional officers were called to the scene to assist in the rescue. Animal control workers are now vaccinating and treating the dogs with the goal of finding them new homes.

Anyone with information regarding where the dogs came from or who left them at the park is asked to email the department at palmdale@animalcare.lacounty.gov.
