Neighbor shoots neighbor in Hollywood Hills

A man was hospitalized after he was shot by a neighbor in the Hollywood Hills. Police said a man tried to enter a neighbor's house and was shot by the man who lived there.

A man was hospitalized after he was shot by his neighbor during a dispute in Los Angeles' Hollywood Hills neighborhood Tuesday morning, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

It happened just before 11 a.m. at a home in the 2200 block of Chelan Place near Chelan Drive. 

According to police, the dispute involved a man who allegedly entered a neighbor's house and was shot by the man who lived there. The man had asked the neighbor to leave, and he refused, officials said.

The neighbor who was shot was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition, officials said. 

The other neighbor was detained, according to police, but not arrests were immediately reported. 

The investigation is ongoing.
