LA Public Health on Friday was hoping to inform a group of unidentified kids that a bat they were poking with a stick tested positive for rabies and they should seek medical treatment immediately.

The bat that tested positive for rabies was found alive at Santa Fe Dam in Irwindale on August 4, according to Public Health.

Health officials warned that unidentified children were seen poking at it with a stick.

"Anyone who may have had contact with the bat is urged to seek medical treatment immediately," Public Health warned.

So far in 2019, 43 rabid bats have been found in Los Angeles County.
