Homeless woman found dead on Santa Monica beach
SANTA MONICA, Calif. - A homicide investigation is underway in Santa Monica after a homeless woman's body was found on the beach Monday, according to police.
Officers responded to a report of an unresponsive adult near Lifeguard Tower 1550 along the waterline around 7 a.m.
At the scene, officers located the victim in a sleeping bag. She had visible trauma injuries to her face, police said, and died at the scene.
The victim's identity was not released. The circumstances surrounding her death are under investigation.
Police did not release suspect information.
