Harbor City burglars caught on video

(FOX 11) - A Harbor City family returns home to a frightening scene. They came face to face with burglars ransaking their home, but their crime is all caught on security video!

Police are looking for three suspects who burglarized a home on 245th Street in Harbor City, Friday night at about 9:30 p.m.

The homeowners, Lareina Pedriquez and Samuel McDonald say they were returning to their home from dinner with their two young children when they saw a black BMW backed into their driveway. They thought it looked suspicious so they attempted to block in the vehicle. At that moment, they say two suspects came out of their home with bags full of their belongings. The suspects jumped into the car and took off, driving over the front lawn to get away.

Upon inspection of the the family's doorbell video camera, they realized a third suspect ran out the back door and also escaped. In describing the interior of the home Pedriquez said "its completely disheveled, one of the cabinets was overturned there was furniture on the bed and a blanket on the bed with items that they were getting ready to take."

She says, she thinks the thieves somehow got through the back door so she is now taking extra precautions. "We are trying to pickup the pieces, we're being a little more vigilant, we got extra locks, heightened up the security and are changing some of the locks around just to make sure."
She says the thieves made off with designer handbags, electronics and jewelry including a small engraved bracelet that her daughter used to wear as a child.
