Search continues for Hyde Park hit-and-run driver
A nursing student was killed when she was struck by a car doing donuts during the illegal street takeover Christmas night.
LOS ANGELES - The search continues for a hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a nursing student while doing donuts during a street takeover in the Hyde Park neighborhood of South Los Angeles on Christmas night.
According to authorities, 24-year-old Elyzza Guajaca was struck Sunday night by a black Chevrolet Camaro while standing with a group of people at the northeast corner of Crenshaw Boulevard and Florence Avenue. She died at a local hospital.
Up to seven more victims were identified on videos obtained by police in recent days.

During a press conference Wednesday, authorities released pictures and snippets of video from Sunday night in hopes that the people seen in the video will come forward.

The video shows a young man on the ground who appears to be unconscious as several people throw punches and hit him. Police said they are still working on confirming if the man being beaten was a driver in the sideshow. He is currently a person of interest.
"These guys think it's funny.. it's a really sick culture," Det. Ryan Moreno said of the "car culture mentality. "It's really dangerous. They're putting the whole public in danger.. they're really hurting the community with this."

LAPD releases new video on deadly Hyde Park street takeover
The newly released video shows others were injured in a street takeover where a nursing student lost her life.
A $50,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the hit-and-run driver.
"My sister was an aunty to my beautiful girls who loved her so much," her brother Louie Guajaca wrote on a GoFundMe campaign. "She was a beautiful sister who loved big. She was a daughter who always wanted to be with around and have family time. She was the rock to our family."

Nursing student hit, killed by driver doing donuts during LA street takeover
The victim, identified by family as 24-year-old Elyzza Guajaca, was standing in the area when she was struck and killed by a car doing donuts in the middle of the intersection, police said.
Guajaca was in nursing school and worked at the Los Angeles International Airport. She fell in love with car culture after the first "Fast and Furious" movie came out, and loved events like the one she attended Sunday night, her family said.
