Billy Drago, famed for menacing role in 'The Untouchables,' dead at 73

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Funeral services were pending today for actor Billy Drago, best known for portraying deadly Al Capone henchman Frank Nitti in Brian De Palma's "The Untouchables."

Drago died Monday in Los Angeles at age 73, a representative told The Hollywood Reporter.

While best known for his chilling portrayal of Nitti opposite Robert De Niro and Kevin Costner in "The Untouchables," Drago had a long list of film and television credits, including a role in Clint Eastwood's classic 1985 western "Pale Rider."

He had regular roles in "The Adventures of Brisco County Jr." and "Charmed," but also made appearances on shows including "The X-Files," "Nash Bridges," "Walker, Texas Ranger," "T.J. Hooker," "Hill Street Blues" and "The Fall Guy."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Drago is survived by his sister Patty, brother Steve, sons Darren Burrows and Derrick Burrows, and several grandchildren.
