A man riding a bicycle was struck and killed in a hit-and-run accident Thursday morning in Van Nuys and the arrest of the alleged driver was captured on video.

Police responded at about 3:45 a.m. to the intersection of Haskell Avenue and Stagg Street and located the victim, according to Officer Norma Eisenman of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section.

The cyclist was struck and died at the scene, authorities said.

The driver fled and was found about a half mile away at Woodley Avenue and Saticoy Street, where he was taken into custody, Eisenman said.
