Gail Devers is such a great story. She was diagnosed with Graves Disease. She was so sick at one point, that doctors considered amputating her feet. She overcame that to win a Gold Medal in Barcelona and two in Atlanta. Jackie Joyner Kersee was dubbed ‘Superwoman’ by Sports Illustrated, and named Sports Illustrated For Women's top female athlete of the 20th century.
