What followed was depression, fear and anxiety, but Obi found the strength and faith to carry on with his writing, acting and yoga teaching and is now working to master highly sensitive prosthetic legs so he can stand tall. In 2017 Khloe started her own non-profit, KhloeKares.com. It started small, handing out homemade bags of necessary items to homeless women on the streets of Los Angeles. She later started a weekly program filling local community refrigerators with fresh food items. She even took a trip to visit kids in Ghana after raising enough money to bring running water to their school. Khloe just turned 14 years old and of course instead of getting gifts, she's giving them.

In 2019, Cal State University campuses launched an artificial intelligence program to help students stay on track to graduate. At Cal Poly Pomona, students have "Billy Chat" named after their school mascot-- Billy Bronco. The "chatbot" is available to answer student's academic questions 24-7. But it turns out because of the isolation so many students were feeling during the pandemic, academics weren't the only thing they wanted to talk to Billy about. Billy Chat's managers and CSU students talk about how Billy is helping them get through the semester.

Between March and September of 2020, the number of foster pets in the United States increased by 8% according to Pet Point, which collects industry data on pet adoptions. While it's a selfless and honorable thing to rescue these animals, many of our furry friends have actually saved us during this time. Four pandemic pet owners join our Good Day LA Your Take Panel to discuss how their pets saved them.
