Truck driver attacked during violent street takeover

A truck driver was attacked during a street takeover in Bellflower. Laura Diaz spoke to someone who was there.

A truck driver was attacked during a street takeover in San Bernardino overnight.

"All I could do was just stand back and watch the incident," one witness told FOX 11. He said he approached the takeover at the intersection of W. 5th Street and Mt. Vernon Avenue in San Bernardino shortly after midnight Monday morning. Video shows cars doing donuts in the middle of the intersection, with fireworks going off.

During the takeover, more video captured a big rick truck trying to make it through the intersection. The witness told FOX 11 that the crowd opened the truck's door, which wasn't unlocked, and attacked the driver.

"He was outnumbered. There was a hundred people around that truck, and he was outnumbered," the witness said.

People then proceeded to break into the back of the furniture truck and stole supplies out of the back.

Police eventually showed up, sending everyone running. This reportedly happened at several locations around the city.
