Police find escaped inmate from Chino Men's State Prison in San Diego

Police are looking for an escaped male inmate in Chino.

The City of Chino Police Department confirmed on its Facebook page Monday morning that they are looking for 33-year-old Michael Garrett.

Garrett escaped Sunday night. He was serving a sentence at the California Institution for Men in Chino for grand theft auto and felony evading.

Garrett is 5'10" and weighs about 197 lbs. Police believe he may have stolen a car from a security guard at a nearby mall after he escaped. Police last tracked the stolen car to Yorba Linda.

Authorities believe Garrett has left the Chino area, but they do not know where he is.

Police are warning if anyone sees Garrett or knows where he may be, call 911 and do not approach him. He is considered to be dangerous.
