Mission to clean up human waste and trash in El Sereno
Bottles of urine and trash are leaving El Sereno neighbors frustrated as they demand the city's sanitation department to take action.
LOS ANGELES - Residents in a beautiful part of El Sereno say they are frustrated.
This as neighbors shared photos of bottles of urine and trash being placed in El Sereno. The residents told FOX 11 they have reached out to Los Angeles' sanitation department for the mess not being cleaned up.
Now, a neighborhood group is taking it upon themselves to clean up the streets.
On Monday, the City of Los Angeles issued the following statement regarding the situation in El Sereno:
"L.A. Sanitation received two calls about this -- once on November 2, and another on November 9. Our inspectors did go out on November 4, drove the street and did not see any bottles the caller referenced. After the call this Tuesday, it was scheduled for our inspectors to return today for pick up."
