New video of snowboarder rescue in Wrightwood

Crews successfully rescued a snowboarder who was missing in Wrightwood for 48 hours. He shares his story with FOX 11 photojournalist Sam Dubin.

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif. - A man who was previously reported missing at Mountain High Resort has been found alive, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department announced Tuesday. 

The Brief

    • 35-year-old Malachi Luis Garcia was last seen Sunday afternoon at Mountain High Resort in Wrightwood.
    • His disappearance came as a winter storm brought heavy snow to the mountain communities in Southern California.
    • The LASD announced Tuesday Garcia was found safe.

Malachi Luis Garcia, 35, had been reported missing around 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the resort in Wrightwood.

According to authorities, Garcia was transported to the hospital for treatment and his family has been notified.
