Stabbing reported on Metro platform in Universal City

Police said it was an incident betwen two passengers.

Investigators with the Los Angeles Police Department are searching for the man who they say stabbed another passenger on a Metro platform in Universal City on Tuesday night.

What we know:

The stabbing happened on the platform at the station on Lankershim Boulevard some time before 9 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department

Paramedics took the victim to the hospital in stable condition.

Officers said the suspect made a run for it and the search continues. 

On Wednesday morning, the LAPD said the suspect attempted to rob the victim and proceeded to stab him with a knife. 

The victim was identified as a 24-year-old man, while the suspect was described as a man between 25 and 30 years old.

A detailed description of the suspect was not available.

"Metro extends its wishes for a quick recovery to the victim and thanks the Los Angeles Police and Fire Departments for their prompt response," the agency said in a statement.
