Man arrested after stabbing two people at two different Ontario parks

A suspect has been arrested in connection with a series of stabbings in Ontario.

The two stabbings happened Wednesday, July 24th at De Anza Park and Cypress Park.

Police say around 10:20 a.m. the suspect, 27-year-old David Joseph Moreno, used a knife to attack a man without provocation. Ontario police say the victim was able to fight off the attacker, but he did receive an injury to his neck.

According to police, Moreno then drove to Cypress Park and used a knife to attack another man.
Police say Moreno knew the second victim. The man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Officers were able to locate Moreno Thursday afternoon in the area of Euclid Ave. and Budd St. where he was taken into custody. Police tell us Moreno was in possession of a knife at the time of his arrest.

He has been booked at the West Valley Detention Center on two counts of attempted murder.

His girlfriend, 21-year-old Taylor Willis of Rancho Cucamonga, was with Moreno at the time of his arrest, police said. She was arrested as an accessory but was later released.
