Wildfire burn areas brace for mudslides

As crews get a handle on the LA fires that have devastated communities, they must also prepare for a storm that could trigger mudslides in burn scar areas.

As residents of the Eaton and Palisades fires continue the long road to recovery, they now face another possible disaster with rain on the way.

"As we drop the wind concerns and humidity issues, we have winter weather advisories beginning tomorrow," FOX 11 Meteorologist Soumada Khan explained.

Khan explained the wet weather poses a risk to burn scar areas that could trigger mud debris, land movement and flash flood conditions.

In addition, snow levels could drop to the pass level, possibly as low as 3,000 feet, and could impact travel along the Grapevine.
