From the streets of Long Beach to launching a walk for fathers. Meet the man behind this community event

This Father's Day weekend some dads in Long Beach each are stepping up in a show of unity.

A community walk will be held Saturday, June 19 at Cherry Beach; the event called ‘Community Father Walk’ highlights fathers and their children.

It was put together by rapper, music artist, and producer Young Sagg. He knows the streets of east side Long Beach very well. The rapper grew up with Snoop Dogg and is part of Doggystyle Records.

Young Sagg calls his own personal story from the streets "his testimony." He says growing up he expected to end up dead or in prison. He fathered 15 children. Young Sagg, whose real name is Reganold Norwood, says he "wants his children to be better than me."

He is raising his 10-year-old son Anthony on his own. Anthony plans to walk with his dad on Saturday. Nine of his kids are grownups.

He says the walk is to show that fathers care, and for men to be there for those without fathers. He wants to work on communication and be someone the youth can talk to especially "about being victimized by gang violence."

The rapper first held the Community Fathers Walk two years ago with a small group.

The walk starts at 1:30 p.m. at Cherry Beach on Ocean Boulevard meeting up down the hill at the parking lot with a walk to the pier.
