Average L.A. County gas price drops to lowest amount since August 29

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped one-tenth of a cent Monday to $3.576, its lowest amount since Aug. 29.

The average price has dropped 12 of the past 14 days, decreasing 2.3 cents, including one-tenth of a cent for four consecutive days, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is nine-tenths of a cent less than one week ago and 3.2 cents lower than one month ago but 24.4 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped 3.9 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price dropped two-tenths of a cent to $3.516, its lowest amount since March 25. It has decreased 11 of the past 14 days, dropping 3 cents. It was unchanged on Sunday.

The Orange County average price is 1.4 cents less than one week ago and 3.8 cents lower than one month ago but 21.8 cents higher than a year ago. It has dropped 2.9 cents since the start of the year.
