COMPTON, Calif. - More than $4 million worth of illegal drugs including fentanyl and ecstasy pills were seized in Compton Tuesday, according to authorities.
The drugs were discovered at a home in the 100 block of South Willow Avenue.
A search warrant at the home resulted in the seizure of about 5.5 lbs. of suspected tar heroin, 10 kilos of suspected powder cocaine, 6 kilos of suspected powder fentanyl, 6,000 suspected ecstasy pills containing fentanyl, and 254,000 suspected fentanyl pills all worth a combined estimated street value of $4.17 million, authorities said.
Pedro Ramirez, 32, was charged with three counts of possession for sale of a controlled substance that include special allegations for possession for sale of a controlled substance near a school and for the quantity of the narcotics.
A minor was also arrested and charged.

Four people die each day from fentanyl overdoses. LA County District Attorney George Gascón announced a new multi-agency task force to tackle the fentanyl overdose epidemic.
"My office has a zero-tolerance approach to narcotics dealers who are using children to sell fentanyl, marketing fentanyl to kids and setting up shop near schools," District Attorney Gascón said. "We know that just one fentanyl pill can kill the most vulnerable users. We will use every tool available to us to protect children and all people from this lethal drug."
