'It's a calling.' Ventura County Fire captain talks firefighting
VENTURA (FOX 11) - Ventura County Fire Captain Tony McHale is the kind of guy you want to come to the rescue if you're in trouble.
"It's a calling," he said when I asked him about his work.
We met as he and his team were on Cobblestone Drive in Ventura looking at what was left of 3 houses that fast-moving fire had just demolished.
He wasn't there then, only one engine was. He had been on all night, his own family evacuated near Ojai, but he was on the job as long as it took.
The kind of public servant we all owe a debt to...reacting to conditions, taking charge, organized.
Hopefully, you'll get a chance to see part of the playback of our live interview.
