NBA fines Clippers $30M, Kawhi $700K for cap circumvention
The NBA has handed down massive penalties following an investigation into salary cap circumvention involving the Los Angeles Clippers and star forward Kawhi Leonard. The league fined the Clippers $30 million and docked superstar Kawhi Leonard $700,000 after finding evidence of undisclosed benefits provided during his free agency recruitment and contract negotiations. In addition to the monetary fines, the NBA is stripping the Clippers of future draft picks as part of the disciplinary action.
