Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers will no longer be allowed to sit while checking passenger IDs at U.S. airport checkpoints. The American Federation of Government Employees TSA Council 100, the union representing the officers, confirmed the removal of chairs from checkpoints and strongly criticized the decision. The union called the move a "disregard for workers' rights and safety," highlighting that the chairs provided essential ergonomic and physical support for officers who stand and walk on hard surfaces all day.
