Pope Francis Voices Support for Civil Unions

Chris Cappiello President of the San Fernando Valley Chapter of Dignity USA, an organization dedicated to LGBT Catholics, joined Good Day LA with reaction to news from Rome, where a new documentary about the Pope features quotes supporting civil unions between gay couples,contradicting long-standing church doctrine. Gay people, says Pope Francis "are children of God" and "have a right to be a part of the family."
