Steve Soboroff won't take $500k salary after backlash
One of the recent controversies in LA's wildfire response involves Steve Soboroff. LA Mayor Karen Bass appointed him to be her point person to oversee the response. Then it came out he was going to be paid $500,000 for three months of work by various nonprofits. After a public outcry, Soboroff agreed to work for free.
