LAUSD expanding services to homeless families
The Los Angeles Unified School District has expanded support programs focused on students experiencing homelessness. LAUSD Superintendent Alberto Carvalho tells Good Day LA?s Brooke Thomas, that attendance patterns worsen when a child is unhoused. He says their abilities to read and interact socially with other students can also be impacted, but with the right systems in place, the negative impact can be turned around.
