All LAUSD First-Graders to receive savings account
Los Angeles has launched what's being called the largest Children's Saving Account Program in the Country. The Program will provide all first-graders a savings account with a $50 seed deposit. It's called "Opportunity LA" and its goal is to get kids to start saving early for college. Abigail Marquez, General Manager of LA's Community Investment for Families Department, joined us on Good Day LA to talk about how the program works.
