Violent crash in North Hollywood kills pedestrian

A violent crash near the intersection of Victory Boulevard and Vineland Avenue in North Hollywood sent three people to the hospital Tuesday afternoon.

The crash occurred just after 3 p.m. and involved three different vehicles and one pedestrian. The impact of the collision forced one of the cars to drive onto a CVS Pharmacy parking lot and come to rest underneath a CVS sign.

One person became trapped underneath one of the vehicles, Los Angeles police said. That person was taken to the hospital in critical condition and later died from their injuries, LAPD said.

In all, three people were transported to the hospital. The condition of the other two is unknown at this time.

The intersection of Victory and Vineland was closed while authorities continue their investigation and crews are able to clean up the wreckage. Drivers were advised to take alternate routes.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. No further details were immediately known.
