Vehicle crashes into Covina restaurant, two injured

COVINA, Calif. (FOX 11) - Two people were injured after an SUV slammed into a restaurant in Covina. 

Security video caught the moments the vehicle flew through the parking lot and into the ‘Mar y Tierra’ restaurant on West San Bernardino Rd. Wednesday night. 

The two people in the vehicle were able to get out on their own. They were taken to the hospital with unknown conditions. 

Luckily, the restaurant was closed and no one was inside when the crash happened.

It is not known what caused the driver to lose control and crash. A building inspector has red-tagged the restaurant, deeming it unsafe to occupy.
