Car crushed by truck on Azusa freeway
A car was crushed by big rig truck on the westbound 210 Freeway in Azusa, causing a fiery scene. The driver was airlifted to the hospital. The portion of the freeway has since been reopened.
AZUSA, Calif. - Traffic on the 210 freeway in Azusa came to a standstill Wednesday afternoon after a sedan collided with a semi-truck.
The crash happened around 11 a.m. on the westbound lanes of the 210 near Citrus Avenue.
California Highway Patrol officers say a car got wedged underneath a semi-truck and erupted into flames. A rescue helicopter landed on the freeway and airlifted the driver to a hospital. Their condition is unknown.
Fire officials had blocked all westbound lanes, causing traffic to be backed up for miles.
