SWAT team sent to Pico Rivera neighborhood for barricaded suspect

A sheriff's SWAT team was sent to a Pico Rivera neighborhood Wednesday on a report that an armed arson suspect was barricaded.

Deputies went to the 6500 block of Rosemead Boulevard at about 10:10 a.m., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Surrounding homes were evacuated as a precaution as SWAT team personnel worked to take the man into custody, the sheriff's department reported.
