3 shot at South LA senior living facility
One person was arrested, and three people were hurt after shots were fired at a senior living facility in South LA on Monday.
LOS ANGELES - Three people were wounded and a suspect was arrested after shots were fired at a senior living facility in South Los Angeles late Monday morning, authorities said.
What we know:
The Los Angeles Police Department responded to a shooting call in the 7000 block of Denver Avenue, located near the intersection of S. Figueroa Street and W. Florence Ave., in South LA’s Vermont-Slauson area around 10:50 a.m.
Shots were fired at the Progressive Home for the Elderly that houses those aged 62 and up.
When first responders arrived at the scene, three people were taken to area hospitals. One victim is in critical condition while the two others were stable, authorities said. An LAPD official confirmed the three victims and the suspect are staff members.
No residents were injured.
What we don't know:
The names of the victims and the suspect have not been released. The circumstances that led up to the shooting remain under investigation.
